Concept Design Session

Let’s sit down and brainstorm your project together.  Which strategies would best suit the local climate and building type?  Meeting can be in person or remote, depending on location. What we need:

  • Building location

  • Site information

  • Early stage design concept

  • Building usage information:  What kind of building is it?  How will it be used?  What are comfort expectations?

1 - 2 weeks

Technical and financial analysis
This is where we get down to details on how well the product is expected to work.  We use hourly weather, building fabric and usage data to determine the impact of the product on building energy consumption and comfort conditions.  We also provide a capital and running cost estimate, compared to financial savings.
What we need:

  • Information as per feasibility

  • Plans, elevations, sections

  • More detailed building information – target lighting power, equipment loads, etc.

Output​ - Feasibility Report, including comfort performance, energy performance, capital cost, running costs, financial savings.

1 - 2 weeks

System Design 
We provide the relevant design team member with detailed information on which system components are needed, along with key parameters as applicable, such as temperature setpoints, pipe lenghts, spacing, etc. 
What we need:

  • Tender stage drawings from relevant project team members

Output​ - Detailed schematics, which the relevant project team member can incorporate into their drawings

Design Implementation Support
We liaise with the relevant contractors and ensure that the product is well understood, incorporated into shop drawings and key parameters not left out during the construction phase.  We ensure that the product is constructed as intended by design.

Design Review
We review the relevant drawings to ensure product information and parameters are correctly captured in tender, construction or shop drawings.
What we need:

  • Tender, construction or shop drawings

On-site commissioning
We assist with on-site commissioning of products, during and after construction has been completed.  We review system performance and identify if operation setpoints need to be adjusted for the system to perform optimally.
